Donors give those in need a taste of recovery

When Sue Williams arrived at Renascent in 2020, following a car accident, she was searching for help and a way forward. Today, more than six years into recovery, she remains deeply connected to the organization that helped change her life.

“If Renascent wasn’t here, I wouldn’t be here,” Sue shared. “Renascent helped save my life, and I’m just grateful to have found sobriety.”

That gratitude has inspired Sue to give back in meaningful ways. In addition to making financial contributions to Renascent, Sue and her partner own Soundview Girlzzzzzzz, and donated jars of honey as gifts for alumni who volunteered or donated in support of the organization.

Sue’s generosity reflects the spirit of community and connection that continues to strengthen Renascent’s network of donors.

Last year, thanks to the support of corporate partners, private donors, alumni, and community members, Renascent Foundation raised more than $750,000 in support of addiction treatment, family programming, and recovery support services for individuals in need.

While charitable giving continues to face challenges across the sector, Renascent has remained focused on building meaningful relationships with donors and sharing the hope that recovery makes possible.

“Our goal has been to continue sharing uplifting stories of recovery and reminding donors how valued they are,” said Christina Selvaggio, Manager of Philanthropy. “Many of our donors are in recovery themselves. They understand the impact of Renascent’s work and want to help ensure care remains available for others now and into the future.”

Last year, the Foundation also introduced new ways to strengthen donor appreciation, including personalized birthday cards for supporters.

Today, Sue remains an active member of Renascent’s alumni community and continues to use the tools she first gained in treatment years ago — a reminder that recovery not only changes lives, but often inspires people to help others begin their own journey.
